Liar killer exposed - but viewers furious they 'wasted six hours of their time'

Liar viewers finally discovered that Laura Nielson was Andrew Earlham's killer in tonight's thrilling series two finale.

It seemed Earlham's former pal Oliver Graham, who he was blackmailing to frame Laura, was the culprit after being charged with murder.

But in a shock twist, DI Karen Renton told Laura that she knew she was the one that killed Andrew.

Flashbacks showed that Andrew and Oliver had been attempting to set Laura up by drugging her water then stealing her car.

But the plan backfired when Laura, who was seemingly unconscious, got up and started fighting back against her rapist with a knife.

After a struggle in the boathouse, Andrew got the knife and chased Laura through the misty marshes until she hid under a bridge.

The pair then wrestled in the mud during a dramatic struggle but Laura managed to grab the knife and slashed at his throat.

Andrew then collapsed into the water and his lifeless body floated as Laura ran away.

Laura told DI Renton that she had no evidence, but that sometimes bad things happen and you have to deal with them there and then".

She added: "We have to carry on, try to leave the darkness behind and remind ourselves of al the good things. That there is a future for us all however bad things may seem.

"We have to try, don't we? Try to find the hope somewhere in all the mess. I’ve had enough of nightmares."

Disgruntled Liar viewers took to Twitter after discovering the identity of the killer.

One viewer said: "Can't fucking believe I've watched 6 hours.. SIX hours of this for the killer to be Laura Neilson, the person who was accused in the trailers before the programme had even started!"

"So after all that it was her in the first place & I don’t even care! They really should have stopped after the brilliant 1st series!! This 2nd series was not needed... Unfortunately it has been quite drawn out & boring," added another.

A third said: "6 episodes. 6 hours of completely pointless flashbacks, unneeded sideplots, random suspects thrown into the frame. All for it to be Laura.... what a waste of time!"

"Not sure what i find more unbelievable in #liar it was laura all along or people mixing together outside," said a fourth.

However, some viewers did praise the show for a brilliant ending.

One fan said: "OMG amazing ending. Amazing 2 series. Really well written"

"Fitting how it came full circle with Laura & Andrew with Laura getting her own justice," added another.
