LiAngelo Ball says London Lions expressed interest in signing him

In November, LiAngelo Ball announced that he was planning on pursuing an NBA G League contract. With just 13 games left in the regular season, the middle Ball brother still hasn’t found a spot on a G League roster.

However, he has garnered some interest from teams overseas, including the London Lions of the British Basketball League.

In the most recent episode of “Ball In the Family,” LiAngelo revealed that the London Lions had expressed interest in signing him to a contract.

“It seems like the London Lions might be interested in picking me up. I know I have to take different roads and different paths getting to the NBA. Sometimes, it’s just tough to make that decision.”

The Lions were one of the teams that LiAngelo and the JBA USA team saw — and beat — during the league’s international season. He also played against them during his time in Lithuania with BC Prienai, so the Lions have had at least two opportunities to dissect his strengths and weaknesses on the court.

They have also seen firsthand what the Ball family brand provides off of the court, so that was likely a factor in them making LiAngelo a contract offer.

Next week’s episode of “Ball In the Family” will follow LiAngelo as he makes decision on whether or not he wants to accept the offer from the Lions, but given that the episode was recorded some time between November and early December, it’s safe to assume that things didn’t work out.

I guess we’ll find out exactly why on next week’s episode. Make sure to tune in here. You can watch the latest episode of “Ball In the Family” below.
