Liam Smith vs Anthony Fowler: Fight date, how to watch and live stream details

Liam Smith and Anthony Taylor will go toe-to-toe for Merseyside bragging rights when the pair clash later this year.

Fowler heads into the fight on the back of a stoppage win over Germany's Rico Mueller at Fight Camp and is now set for a huge test against former world champion Smith.

Smith was last in the ring back in May, where he was defeated in controversial circumstances by Magomed Kurbanov.

The fight between the pair will attract plenty of focus in the region and across the country. Here's everything you need to know for the bout.

When is the fight?

Liam Smith vs Anthony Fowler will take place on Saturday, October 9th. The bout will come following the completion of the undercard, which has not yet been fully confirmed.

Where is the fight?

The fight will take place at Liverpool's M&S Bank Arena.

How can I watch the fight?

Access to the fight is available through DAZN, with a special introductory price of just £1.99-a-month providing exclusive access to the clash.

Subscription can be cancelled at any time and also includes live, on demand and highlights of the action, as well as documentaries, boxing shows and classic fights.

What's been said?

Speaking to the Echo, Smith said: “People are making out that I’m overlooking him but I’m from too good a family to overlook anyone. If I did that, they’d put me in my place. I’m never in a million years going to overlook Anthony Fowler, especially in the Arena in front of a big crowd. I’m confident in my own ability though, I’ll back myself against anyone, especially in Britain.”

Fowler, also speaking to the Echo, said: “It’s different because I’m more nervous for this fight than I am for the average fight, but that’s understandable. My way of looking at this is that it isn’t personal. We’re both scousers, both working hard, trying to achieve our dreams and looking after our families. It’s just business, it’s nothing personal on my part.”
