Celtic are faving a fight to sign Liam Scales after it was revealed English Premier League clubs had made a move for him.
The 22-year-old is highly-rated at Shamrock Rovers and his manager Stephen Bradley insists there’s a number of offers on the table.
One of them is from Celtic with a fee of around €700k expected for the defender, who has 18 months left on his deal at the Irish outfit.
But Bradley expects a bit of a bidding war going forward as he insists there’s more than Ange Postecoglou’s men in for him.
Scales can play at centre back or left back and Bradley believes he will have a big career.
He told the Irish Mirror: “I know there’s a lot of interest and there has been for quite some time.
“But right now Liam is fully focused on tomorrow and going forward until Stephen McPhail (Sporting Director) and the board tell me otherwise that's the way it will be.
“But there’s a lot of serious interest from the English Premier League and Scotland. We've had a number of managers ring Stephen and myself regarding Liam.
“Yes. There have been bids put down.
“The board trusted our judgement in signing players on longer deals and that means you can take a stance when teams come in.”
Postecoglou is stepping up his bid to sign players at Celtic Park, with Joe Hart and James McCarthy joining earlier this week while a fee has been agreed for Aurelio Buta.
