Liam Payne planning to make short movie about experience at Alcoholics Anonymous

Liam Payne has revealed he has penned a short film about his experience of visiting alcoholics anonymous with Russell Brand.

The 27-year-old One Direction star accompanied 46-year-old comedian Russell to a meeting where he was impressed by the unifying nature of the self-help group.

Liam detailed how he was found in a room surrounded by regular people – as well as his superstar friend – and sat as everyone shared their experiences.

He claims he has written a short comedy script about his experience which he hopes to bring to life on screen – and says that a character is based on himself.

He told the Diary Of A CEO Podcast: “There was everyone from prison guards to ex-soldiers to postmen to bin men, me and Russell.

"It was the weirdest room . . . We’re in some old community church room and he’s taking the chair and doing stand-up.”

He continued: “I am not going to give the script away . . . and I’ve not spoken to Russ about it yet. But I am one of the characters.”

He added: “I’m excited about the film. I showed it to one of my friends and she laughed a lot.”

Earlier this month Liam shared a story where he was left with a huge drinks bill following a night out.

Speaking to fans on Instagram he said: “I learned to make cocktails for the crew and at the end of the night was DJing and someone gave me the 30 grand bill.

“I was like, ‘I’m not paying for drinks that I was making for other people’. Didn’t get any tips from the team.”

He explained he tried to escape the bill, before further disaster struck.

He said: “I put it on someone else’s room. Then I jumped in the pool, forgetting I had expensive shoes on.”
