Liam Payne and Cheryl are usually on good terms, but it looked like he made a dig at his ex's expense in a recent interview.
The former One Direction star, 26, was talking about his new love Maya Henry, who he claimed was much more "relaxed" than his previous girlfriends.
He said that Maya's chilled out ways help him relax through difficult situations.
Liam told OK! magazine: "She's awesome. It's got to the point with my life where I'm like, screw this - it's not worth my happiness.
"The difference with her is she's so relaxed that it helps me relax in a situation."
Liam and Cheryl dated from 2016 until 2018 and welcomed son Bear in 2017.
In the same interview he admitted that their son is completely spoilt by their friends and family.
The singer said he and Cheryl have even discussed what to do about all the toys given to Bear.
Liam explained: "I find it hard to control that [how much people buy]. We have a lot of extended family between me and my former partner and they buy him stuff all the time. I can't really say: 'Don’t buy him stuff.'
"But we were actually talking about it recently, because he has so many toys in the house and I’m like, 'I will literally get him one toy’. Because he doesn’t need loads, he’s got loads...
"It’s a bit ludicrous really but I can’t help the fact that people love him and they want to spoil him. I just think as he gets older I’m going to have to teach him the value of what it is."
The chart-topper and Maya first crossed paths at the Dolce & Gabbana gala dinner, in Lake Como shortly after his break up with Cheryl.
Recently, the hunk credited the brunette bombshell for bringing happiness back into his life.
The dad-of-one shared a loved-up picture of himself and Maya cuddling on the sofa. He captioned the post: "Sometimes I don’t recognise this happy guy... sure glad you brought him back though."
