Liam Payne and Cheryl proved there are no hard feelings after they ran into each other at the Global Awards.
The celebrity duo, who share one-year-old son Bear, enjoyed a hug as they caught up at Thursday night’s event, eight months after they split.
Cheryl, who looked stunning in a rainbow coloured gown, reportedly greeted her ex with “Hello stranger,” to which Payne allegedly replied: “It’s been a long day.”
A source told The Sun Online: “No one has seen them together since their split so nobody was sure what it would be like when they bumped into each other.
“But they really seemed genuinely pleased to see each other. Their paths crossed backstage before having their photos taken. It was really busy but they stood chatting for a few minutes.”
Cheryl previously opened up about their relationship, insisting there is “no animosity whatsoever”
“We are learning all the time,” she told the Daily Mail. “And it’s good, it’s healthy.
“We’re just like any other couple that have gone through this, but we have a few more eyes watching us... Just a few.”
Payne, who is rumoured to be dating Naomi Campbell, missed out on the Best Male gong at last night’s event to Mark Ronson who also picked up the Global Special Award before delivering a 15 minute set.
Dua Lipa won Best Female while Little Mix, who also performed, scooped Best Group and Best Song for Woman Like Me ft Nicki Minaj.
Lady Gaga won the Mass Appeal award but was unable to collect the gong in person, leaving Ronson to read out her powerful acceptance speech.
Other winners included Blossoms (Best Indie), Anne-Marie (Best Pop) and Nicola Benedetti (Best Classical Artist).
LBC stalwart Steve Allen was in tears as he was honoured with the LBC Award for his decades-spanning services to broadcasting.
