Liam Gallagher wins over more Leeds United fans with Twitter outburst during Arsenal clash

Liam Gallagher has weighed in once again on social media after Leeds United's FA Cup defeat to Arsenal to blast the video assisted referee (VAR) system following a controversial call late on at the Emirates Stadium.

The Whites were edged 1-0 in north London by their hosts thanks to Reiss Nelson's effort just before the hour mark, in what was a closely-contested game of two halves.

However, Leeds were denied a potential man advantage late on after Alexandre Lacazette escaped a red card for an incident involving Gaetano Berardi with a quarter of an hour left to play.

The France international appeared to lash out at the heels of the latter off the ball, prompting a brief stoppage for the VAR to assess whether it was a punishable offence.

However, Lacazette was shown nothing in the end and Arsenal saw out their victory, to set up a fourth round trip to Bournemouth, in the closing stages.

Former Oasis frontman Gallagher - who has some history with Leeds in recent years - was not having any of the call however and took to Twitter with a typically expletive-laden message for the decision.

"Check complete, f*** off VAR," the Mancunian wrote shortly afterwards, to the delight of Whites supporters.

Leeds now return to their attention to the Championship as they look to continue their push for promotion to the Premier League, to set up a rematch with Arsenal next season.

They host Sheffield Wednesday in a derby encounter at Elland Road this Saturday.
