Liam Gallagher to perform free show for NHS workers at O2 Arena

Liam Gallagher is set to perform a free concert to thank NHS staff for their hard work during the coronavirus outbreak.

The former Oasis musician will headline the gig at London’s O2 arena on 29 October 2020 alongside a lineup of yet-to-be announced artists.

NHS workers will be able to claim two tickets, where a non-NHS worker can hold the second spot.

“It's an honour to announce that I will be doing a gig for the NHS and careworkers at London’s TheO2 on October 29th [sic],” Gallagher wrote as he announced the news on Twitter.

“They do an incredible job, we are very lucky to have them. LG x.”

The “Champagne Supernova” singer has been keeping the nation’s spirits high from self-isolation, reworking a number of Oasis hits to encourage fans to wash their hands and stay inside.

However, Gallagher has failed to convince estranged brother Noel to get involved in the charity concert, having previously said that he was “sick of pleading” for a reunion to happen.

Noel had previously shut down the idea, telling Vogue: “I’ve often thought, ‘Lets just do a gig.’ But I realised I would only be doing it to shut this f***ing idiot up.

“The only other thing I could come up with was burning his house down or smashing his car in… but that’s not going to solve anything, is it?”
