Liam Gallagher tells Noel he 'loves him long time' in bid to mend feud on birthday

Liam Gallagher sent Oasis fans into meltdown after he extended an olive branch to his brother Noel on his birthday.

The 47-year-old rocker took to social media to wish his brother well as he celebrated his 53rd birthday in lockdown.

The siblings and former Oasis stars share a chequered past and have been feuding on and off ever since the band split in 2009.

Liam's latest attempt to smooth over tensions with Noel appeared to fuel even more hope among their fan base of a future reunion.

The former Beady Eye singer even allured to an Oasis return when followers quizzed him under the birthday message.

"Happy birthday Rkid have a good 1 love you long time LG x," Liam wrote on Noel's birthday.

So far Noel has not publicly responded to the birthday wish.

Despite radio silence on Noel's part, Liam then went on to respond to his fans as they shared their excitement over the message on social media.

At one point, a follower suggested that the Wonderwall hitmakers should have a 'zoom call' for his birthday.

"Zoom call what’s that," Liam joked.

Another fan had a more burning question to ask: "Are you still hopefull that Oasis will be once again?"

The legendary musician simply replied: "More than ever."

Just a few months ago, it was reported that the brothers had finally 'healed' their rift and were back on talking terms thanks to support from their families after years of feuding.

However, tensions appear to have risen again during the lockdown after Noel debuted a previously unreleased Oasis demo without Liam singing.

The 15-year-old demo track, called Don't Stop..., had never been made public.

In response Liam urged him not to forget his brother when taking a trip down memory lane.

It has been nearly 11 years since Noel and Liam argued backstage and called it quits on the mega-famous rock band.

Despite Liam's attempts to mend their differences, a reunion not on the agenda just yet.
