Liam Gallagher has paid tribute to his domestic treble-winning Manchester City side as well as teasing the first song from his new album on a city centre billboard.
A one-off display went up on a digital advertising board on Deansgate saying: "Man City treble winners.
"It's coming round like a shockwave.
"Liam Gallagher."
Liam's beloved Blues completed a historic domestic treble of the Premier League title, FA Cup and League Cup last season, a first for an English team.
He shared a snap of the billboard which is at the end of Deansgate close to the tram stop, on his Instagram page saying: "MCFC what a f*****g football team LG x"
He has also in recent weeks paid tribute to the Blues departing legendary captain Vincent Kompany.
The reference to "shockwave" on the billboard is a possible hint to the first offering from his next solo record.
While Gallagher is yet to officially confirm this, it’s understood that ‘Shockwave’ will be the first single from his second album, the follow up up his debut As You Were released in 2017.
