Robbie had laid his feelings on the line as he spilled all about his weight problems which led to depression (Twitter)

Robbie had laid his feelings on the line as he spilled all about his weight problems which led to depression.

In an honest piece to camera, the songwriter admitted he starved himself so much he was mostly living off "fresh air and sometimes mango".

Starvation left Robbie feeling "so emotional and depressed".

As he reflected on his weight troubles, the singer remembered the times when he was overweight and unhappy which also led to depression.

He said: "Basically I lived on fresh air and some mango. I was so emotional and depressed and I had all these feelings. My body was starving.

"I've been overweight and unhappy or been extreme and underweight and unhappy.

"Both of those places have led to depression. This is the best thing I've been for the last time. Consistency is the best I've been for a long time."

Robbie elaborated on his weight woes as he offered up he was feeling the best he felt in a long time.

He recognised his new consistent diet for more than a year has had a positive impact physically and mentally.

In the caption, he added: "This really is the best I’ve felt in such a long time. By staying consistent with the programme on @ww_uk for over a year now, I’ve really noticed the positive impact it’s had not just physically, but mentally as well."
