Liam Gallagher says 'snide' Noel Gallagher 'threw me under the bus' when Oasis split

Liam Gallagher has taken a cheeky swipe at his estranged brother amid the ongoing speculation regarding a possible Oasis reunion.

The rocker, 50, jokingly dubbed his older sibling Noel Gallagher "a stalker" as he revealed how he been celebrating his beloved Manchester City recent treble success.

Chatting to Jo Whiley, Liam went on to discuss his infamous tweet that promised Oasis would reform should Manchester City win the Champions League, which the club did on Saturday night in Istanbul.

"Are you friends with any of the [Manchester City] players?" Jo asked the Wonderwall singer on BBC Radio 2 this evening.

"Erm...no," Liam replied. "I don't go for that me, man. I've met a few of them but i'm not like our kid [Noel] who's down there, stalking them every two minutes - in the dressing room naked after just putting a 90 minute shift in.

"I don't do that, as you know. I'm not a celebrity, lady of the night as they say. I keep myself to myself."

Prior to Manchester City beating Inter Milan in this year's Champions League final over the weekend, Liam delighted Oasis fans thanks to tweeting: "If Man City wins the Champions League i call my brother and i bring back the f***in band together LG x."

"I never said that," Liam jokingly told Jo as she read the tweet out to him during their hour-long chat.

"Our kid has been called many times to get the band back together," the dad-of-four then revealed.

"It just so happens he wants it this time when he's got an album out, but he's been called many times about getting [Oasis] back together and the way I see it, he'll be calling me.

"He split the band up on his terms and I'll it back together on my terms."

Liam continued: "I'm a reasonable person. I'm very good friends with the Universe and we have ways of making it happen as it will come round to him calling me. That is it.

"I think [an Oasis reunion] will happen."

As Jo quizzed how Oasis broke up, Liam then recalled: "It was going too well for him and he wanted to be a solo star, that's the way I see it - no-one knew it was coming.

"You don't split bands up like that - it's a big thing. If he wanted to go do a solo career, I'd have quite happily had two years off, you know what I mean?

"So he just plugged the plug and I think that's snide. I've still got the hump with it as he through his younger brother under the bus - I've got bills to pay as well and so did everyone else.

"We had dreams as well. So obviously I've still got the hump about it, so there you go."

Jo then mused how Liam and Noel's rift must be hard for their mother, but Liam shared how Peggy Gallagher is "kind of over it".

"She just thinks we're a pair of idiots," Liam told Radio 2 listeners.

"The olive branch has been put out to him many a time," he added, but admitted he hasn't personally called his brother as he hasn't got Noel's number.

"He will call me, I know he will, because the Universe will make him," the Don't Look Back in Anger hitmaker declared.

Oasis split in 2009, with Noel telling fans via a statement shared on 28 August: "It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer."
