Liam Gallagher's son Lennon follows him into music industry by joining rock group

Lennon Gallagher is launching a bid to become a rockstar like his dad Liam.

The 21-year-old, whose mum is Liam's first wife Patsy Kensit, has not only inherited his Mancunian dad's swarthy good looks but also his love of the limelight, and has now joined a band.

A source close to the star told The Sun that Liam, 48, is all for his son following him in to the music industry, after he signed up to be the frontman of an acoustic band called Automotion

They said: “Lennon has that rock god stage presence and has learned the art of performance from his dad.

“Liam is super proud and has listened to his songs - he’s always around to offer advice.”

Mum Patsy has also got pop credentials, having performed single I'm Not Scared on Top Of The Pops.

The breathy synth classic reached number 2 in 1988.

Genetics aside, Lennon's road to music stardom shouldn't come as much of a surprise - he is named after Beatles icon John.

He previously explained: "I grew up with my mum being an actress. Also my dad is a musician.

"I just like being in front of the camera - as cheesy as that sounds."

If his younger brother Gene (whose mum is Liam's second wife Nicole Appleton) decides to team up with him in the future, then we can only hope that they don't end up at loggerheads.

Tensions between dad-of-four Liam and big brother Noel tore their band Oasis apart, with their toxic feud still not over a decade after the group's sudden split in 2009.

As well as Lennon and Gene, Liam is also dad to daughters Molly, 22, and Gemma, seven, who were conceived during extra-marital flings.
