Liam Gallagher's personally-designed trainers sell for 10 times what they're worth

Liam Gallagher’s limited edition trainers were selling on eBay for more than £1,000 tonight – 10 times face value.

The rocker’s personally-designed £99.95 Adidas sneakers sold out online and in selected stores within minutes on Friday.

Today a flood of footwear appeared on eBay from £200 to just over £1,000.

The white SPZL trainers – with former Oasis star Liam’s face on the tongue – are based on the cult Padiham SPZL.

After the trainers sold out, Liam tweeted to his 3.1 million followers: “Thanx to all my SPZL friends I love and adore you that’s SHOEBIZZ.”

When told the trainers were on eBay, the Some Might Say singer replied: “This is the way of the world though R’kid.”

And he couldn’t resist stoking the feud with fellow rock star brother Noel, 52.

Asked if he thought Noel had bought a pair, 46-year-old Liam wrote: “There [sic] too cool for him plus we don’t do size 2.”

The trainers come months after Liam’s fashion brand, Pretty Green, was rescued by JD Sports.

But despite the set-back, Liam has followed in the footsteps of the likes of Kanye West and Pharrell Williams by collaborating with the German sportswear brand.

Liam announced the collaboration in a video on his Instagram page.

In the clip Adidas Spezial designer Gary Aspden can be seen handing over a pair to a clearly delighted Liam in his dressing room before a gig in London.

“That is f****** smart though innit,” he says, before describing himself as the “Best looking motherf***** on the p-lanet” and the new Adidas as the “Best looking f****** trainers on the planet”.

It’s based on the Padiham Spzl, a cult trainer among Adidas fans.

Gary said: “I have known Liam for over 20 years and we have always got on.

“He liked the silhouette of the Padiham SPZL on the whole but said he wanted it to look neutral and understated.

“Anyone who has worn the three stripes loyally for as long as he has will understand that excitement.”

The launch coincides with the 25th anniversary of Oasis’s debut album Definitely Maybe.
