Liam Gallagher's fashion brand Pretty Green goes into administration

Liam Gallagher's fashion brand Pretty Green has fallen into administration, putting more than 170 jobs at risk.

However, the Oasis frontman's company says it has not lost hope, and intends to find a buyer for the loss-making business.

The retail brand employed advisory firm Moorfields last month to help them review their options.

According to Moorfields' partner Simon Thomas, there is a "large amount of interest" in Pretty Green.

He said: “Following a period of marketing the brand attracted a large amount of interest, so we remain hopeful a deal can be done.

“The brand has a strong following and it is unfortunate that similar to many other retailers who rely on concessions they have suffered as a consequence of larger department store insolvencies.”

Pretty Green has 12 stories across the country, and 40 concessions.

It also has a wholesale business, which plans to continue running at present.

The brand suffered after House of Fraser – where it had many of its concessions – fell into administration last year.

This led to a £500,000 hit, which is reported to have seriously wounded them.

However, Moorfields claimed that there was still a "growing overall demand for the brand".

Pretty Green was founded in 2009, and aims to "unite people through a love of music and fashion".
