Liam Gallagher hilariously reaches out to Noel after wife split as fans demand reunion

Liam Gallagher has seemingly reached out to Noel Gallagher following the news his brother and Sara MacDonald are to divorce.

A representative for Noel and Sara announced the former couple had gone their separate ways after 22 years together on Friday night - causing Oasis fans to hopefully wonder if Noel's personal news could spark a reunion between the Gallagher brothers.

On Sunday night, Liam, 50, added to the wishful speculation on Twitter, as the Wonderwall singer posted a number of cryptic tweets and sent Oasis fans into meltdown.

The two brothers have been locked in a bitter feud for over a decade - with it previously reported Sara's strained relationship with brother-in-law Liam was a major factor in Oasis' 2009 split.

It's believed Sara was strongly opposed to Oasis reuniting, after Liam once reportedly called her 11 times in one night to hurl insults back in 2002.

Liam wasn't present when Noel and Sara tied the knot in 2011 and in 2020, mum-of-two Sara revealed her brother-in-law had never met either of his nephews.

But on Sunday night, Liam hinted he is in the mood to put the past behind him and reconcile with his brother.

Liam was in the mood to share a few music recommendations with his Twitter followers on Sunday (@liamgallagher/Twitter)

The Beady Eye frontman began a series of tweets posting a YouTube link to John McCormack's song It's A Long Way To Tipperary - going on to pick some more cryptic tunes to share with his followers.

After popping up links to The Beatles' anthems Two of Us and The Long and Winding Road, Liam then sent the rumour mill into overdrive when he shared his fifth song recommendation of the evening.

"hollies he ain't heavy he's my brother - Google Search," the singer wrote as he shared a YouTube link to the song by The Hollies.

Oasis fans are convinced Liam's tweet imply he's ready to reunite with his sibling (@liamgallagher/Twitter)

"He’s your brother alright … hope you are both good and been there for him this weekend my man … if he has let you xo peace to you," one fan replied to Liam on Sunday night.

"The bond of a sibling can never be broken," another added, as a third asked: "Are you giving us cryptic clues to a reunion?"

Another response to Liam's tweeting spree reads: "liam is in his taylor swift era posting easter eggs and clues on his twitter."

"Say what you want but after everything that’s arisen the past couple of days, there’s a boy who loves his brother," another declared on Twitter.

A representative for Noel and Sara told the Mirror on Friday night: "Noel and Sara will continue to look after their children who remain the priority.

"They ask the media to respect their privacy and that of our family at this time."

Sara, who shares two sons with Noel, once detailed the feud between her husband and brother-in-law when chatting with Vogue - recalling how the two music legends once had a physical fight in a hotel room.

"They were rolling around like geckos," she told the publication. "Noel’s shirt was in ribbons. We left, but then I realised I’d left my bag in there. Noel knocked on the door and it was hurled down the corridor."

Liam's tweets on Sunday night aren't the first time the Don't Look Back in Anger singer has hinted about an Oasis reunion.

In 2021, the singer responded to a fan who tweeted the Beady Eye singer: "HEY LIAM, I need you to give me hope that Oasis will come back please. I’m 19 years old I want to love that concert, I HATE not being born earlier."

To which Liam replied: "It’s gonna happen."

The ball is in Noel's court now it seems.
