Liam Gallagher has revealed he once got into a fight with Simon Gregson – AKA Coronation Street ’s Steve McDonald.
The 47-year-old Don’t Look Back In Anger legend was plunged into a furious rage when 45-year-old soap heartthrob Simon flipped the bird at him.
The incident took place when the duo crossed paths near a set of ITV studios in Manchester, where Liam had been performing nearby at the beginning of his music success in 1992.
Liam was left raging when he was enjoying a post show drink, only to spot Simon waving his middle finger at him as he drove past.
Oasis star Liam then raced after the Corrie actor’s car on foot, and attempted to pull the actor out of the driving seat when he stopped at traffic lights.
Liam discussed the incident with The Sun, and sounded a little irate about the altercation – almost 30 years after the fact.
He grumbled: “I was walking down the road with my jacket on and [Simon’s] come out and he’s staring at me and I’m staring at him and he’s giving me looks back and I’ve gone, ‘What you f**ing looking at?’
“And he’s wound down his window and flipped the bird at me and then I’ve chased him down the road. And he wound his window up and drove off and I kept catching him at lights.
“He was coming out of the Granada TV studios where they’d been doing Corrie and we had just been making our TV debut with Take Me and he f**ing flipped me the bird. Can you believe that?”
Liam has been taking a walk down memory lane a lot of late.
Last month he rehashed an alleged fight with Screaming Trees singer Mark Lanegan.
Mark claimed in his memoirs that Liam had chickened out of fight with him while on tour in 1996.
But Liam hit back at the claims, arguing Mark was dragging up the past in an effort to raise publicly as “another b*******er trying to sell a book.”
