Liam Gallagher 'look-alike' comedian was a big hit with Simon Cowell on Britain's Got Talent

Comedian Mike Newall had Britain's Got Talent judges laughing with his deadpan routine, and Simon Cowell commented that he reminded him of a certain rock and roll star.

Mike, from Cheadle, entertained the judging panel and audience at The Lowry theatre with his jokes about bath bombs.

At first Mike wondered how the crowd would receive him, saying: "It's a northern crowd hopefully they'll like what I do."

Unfortunately they didn't exactly warm to his stinging opening joke about a break-up.

"We were in a serious relationship. Serious because we didn't have fun together," he said.

But he won them over with his observational comedy about bath products usually only received as Christmas or birthday gifts.

"It was like being at an Oasis concert and Liam decides to tell a few jokes. You're really funny," chuckled show boss Simon.

And all four judges on the ITV talent show sent him through to the next round.

"Oasis looking comedian," commented one viewer watching at home on Twitter as Mike left the stage to the Oasis hit Roll With It.

"Love that comedian Mike. Definitely got that Oasis swagger," said another.

"Yeah that Gallagher comedian is definitely right up my street!" cheered another fan.

"Lads all over Britain will be having a bath bomb tomorrow," tweeted another.

"Everyone loves a bath bomb," laughed another fan about the routine.
