Liam Gallagher issues warning to fans ahead of Liverpool M&S Bank Arena gig

Liam Gallagher is set to take to the stage at Liverpool's M&S Bank Arena this evening but ahead of his performance he has issued a warning to fans.

It comes after performances in Sheffield and Manchester saw fans setting off flares leaving one fan badly injured.

A 27-year-old woman has reportedly been "scarred for life" after a flare was thrown during the former Oasis singer's Sheffield gig.

She suffered severe burns to her chest and arms, as well as damage to her hair.

At last night's gig in the singer's hometown of Manchester, flares were set off before Liam had even walked on stage.

Once in front of the crowd, he warned fans, saying: "If you're gonna be lighting those flares, don't be launching them about and s***."

Liam has also tweeted ahead of his upcoming shows. He said: "I'm sorry to hear what happened to Stacey Andrew in Sheffield the other night it's not cool people need to chill the f**k out with the flares can someone from her family get in contact with us thanx LGx."

The singer is performing tonight at Liverpool's M&S Bank Arena where fans can expect a mixture of old and new songs, along with Oasis classics.

Kerry Mulloy, events and operations director and deputy CEO of The ACC Liverpool Group, operator of M&S Bank Arena, said: “We want all of our visitors to have the best possible event experience while they are at M&S Bank Arena Liverpool.

“The use of flares or smoke bombs in any crowded place is both irresponsible and dangerous and we work closely with Merseyside Police to take all measures and steps available to deter and prevent this behaviour.

“In order to ensure customer safety, wand searches and/or pat-downs will be carried out and additional security measures will be in place – some of which will not be visible to visitors.

“Anyone found with items such as flares or smoke bombs will be refused entry and any items identified to present a danger to members of the public or our staff will be confiscated.

"M&S Bank Arena reserves the right to refuse admission or remove any customer from the venue.”

More information about items not allowed into the venue can be found here .
