Liam Gallagher expresses disdain for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Liam Gallagher English singer-songwriter

In a recent turn of events, hopes for an Oasis reunion sparked by the band's nomination for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction have been dashed by Liam Gallagher himself. Taking to social media, the singer expressed his disdain for the institution and his brother, Noel, in a series of messages. He even went as far as sarcastically praising fellow nominee Mariah Carey, suggesting she deserves the recognition more than Oasis.

Gallagher's provocative syntax and strong language were on full display as he tweeted, 'Fuck the Rock n Roll hall of fame its full of BUMBACLARTS.' He made it clear that if Oasis were to be inducted, he would not be attending the ceremony in Cleveland this fall. Liam playfully added that his brother, on the other hand, would likely love the opportunity to mingle with celebrities. 'The little fella loves hanging out with celebrities, so he'd prob go; as for me, I'm washing my hair and having a pedicure and a manicure.'

Fans concerning themselves with Oasis' position in the publicly visible fan vote discovered the band lagging behind. Gallagher, however, dismissed the significance of the vote, stating, 'Don't waste your time… as much as it's appreciated it's all a load of bollox.' When a fan expressed that Oasis deserves recognition for their impact and achievements, Liam surprising replied, 'Not as much as Mariah, she smashed it.' While it may not be entirely serious, Gallagher's admiration for Mariah Carey aligns with their shared belief in true rock 'n' roll.

Interestingly, another fan posted a ranking of the fan vote, revealing Oasis in last place with 11,500 votes. Liam took this opportunity to make a lighthearted remark: 'Doing well, I think.' He further explained that he does not need 'some wank award by some geriatric in a cowboy hat,' dismissing the significance of the honor altogether.

While artists often express doubts about their nominations only to eventually embrace the idea of induction, Liam Gallagher's open hostility toward the Rock Hall nomination could potentially influence voting among the Hall's electors. As for Noel Gallagher, he has yet to publicly share his reaction or confirm his attendance at the induction ceremony. Unlike Liam, Noel tends to steer clear of social media, with his label maintaining a more benign account on his behalf.

The ongoing feud between the Gallagher brothers has been well-documented, and the topic of an Oasis reunion has been a point of contention for years. Liam has consistently expressed his desire to reunite the band despite their disputes, while Noel has firmly rejected the idea at every turn. The divide between them extends beyond the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, highlighting their contrasting personalities and perspectives on music.

As the nomination for the Rock Hall induction raises excitement among both diehard Oasis fans and music enthusiasts, it remains to be seen whether this public backlash from Liam Gallagher will impact the final outcome. The anticipation surrounding the Hall's class of 2024 continues to grow, but for now, the Gallagher brothers' reunion prospects seem as elusive as ever.
