Liam Gallagher confirms As It Was film premiere and release date - and Noel won't be happy

Liam Gallagher has confirmed the premiere and release date for his film, As It Was - and big brother Noel won't be happy.

The former Oasis frontman will debut the film at London's Alexandra Palace Theatre on June 6 - on the eve of Noel's huge Heaton Park homecoming gig in Manchester.

It will be released in cinemas on the same day as the show, on June 7.

The announcement also comes on the same day Noel released his new single, Black Star Dancing.

Talk about upstaging, eh.

The world premiere will be followed by an exclusive live performance from Liam, which will be beamed via satellite to cinemas across the UK and Ireland.

The film documents 'the musical comeback of the decade' as Liam returned to the spotlight as a solo artist with his album As You Were in 2017.

It's billed as 'an honest and emotional story of how one of the most iconic rock ‘n’ roll frontmen went from the dizzying heights of his champagne supernova years in Oasis to finding himself ostracised and on the periphery of the rock ‘n’ roll world.'

A newly-released trailer clip shows Liam returning to his childhood home in Burnage where he shared a bedroom with Noel - and where he reveals he once weed on his brother's stereo while 'off me box'.

"That's when I think the grudge started," he says.

Directed by Charlie Lightening and Gavin Fitzgerald, it promises to give viewers 'a no-holds barred look at the life of one of the most talked-about and charismatic artists of his generation'.

Tickets to the premiere go on sale on Thursday May 2 at 4pm. Cinema screening tickets go on sale the following day. For more details visit liamgallagher.film .
