Liam Gallagher celebrates first gig of 2021 with 48 hour bender after 'powder noses' joke

Liam Gallagher celebrated his first major gig of the year by going on a 48hr bender and stuffing his face with crisps.

The rocker put on an epic freebie for NHS workers at London’s O2 Arena where he told the crowd they were a "sophisticated" bunch.

The cheeky scamp added: "Seriously brainy. Doctors and nurses and drug dealers… my kind of people."

Liam, 48, later joked he and the band were off to "powder their noses" before returning for an Oasis-heavy encore.

Backstage, magnums of Ruinart champagne and Grey Goose vodka were flowing, as were bags of Wotsits and Quavers – Liam’s favourite snacks.

He also invited Primal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie and 80s synth-rocker Gary Numan, plus their families, backstage for drinks.

The party carried on for two days at London’s Rosewood Hotel.

My source says: "Liam has been looking forward to this gig for a long time and pulled out all the stops.

"He might be nearing 50, but he knows how to party."

Liam, who has two new albums in the works, is headlining the Leeds and Reading festivals next week, then the Isle of Wight Festival in September.

Meanwhile, his brother Noel, 54, this week revealed he is quitting the booze after caning it in Ibiza.

And while Liam has a penchant for Wotsits, Noel was apparently obsessed with Fanta and KFC in the 90s.

"I couldn’t bloody stop," he says. "You do get addicted to it."

Some Might Say it runs in the family.
