Liam Gallagher blames Liverpool for Premier League 'void' frustration

After more than three months without football, the Premier League has finally resumed, but not everyone is happy about it.

For Liverpool, they resume their campaign away to local rivals Everton on Sunday in the next instalment of the Merseyside derby.

The Reds need a maximum of six more points to secure their first league title since 1990, but could be less if Manchester City drop points in the meantime.

Man City returned to action on Thursday night against Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium, and one of their high profile fans was not happy one bit.

Shortly after the start of the match, musician Liam Gallagher tweeted his frustration over the league’s resumption.

The former Oasis lead singer also suggested it was because of Liverpool that the league season has resumed in the first place.

“Void the season absolutely ridiculous all because the scousers ain’t won the league for 300 years,” tweeted Gallagher.

Gallagher, along with his brother Noel, are often vocal with their views about Man City, and in recent years Liverpool as well.

Several Liverpool fans replied to Gallagher’s tweet, getting in some rather amusing jibes.

“Stop crying your heart out,” one Twitter user wrote.

While another wrote: “This is the loudest the Etihad been in 300yrs what you moaning about?”
