Liam Gallagher backs brother Paul after rape charge with £4m mansion stay and seat on private jet

Liam Gallagher has shown his support for his older brother Paul after he was accused of rape, offering him a place to stay at his £4million home.

Paul Gallagher, 59, of East Finchley, North London, is facing charges including rape, sexual assault, coercive control and making threats to kill. The counts date from 2022 to 2024 and involve one woman.

Paul — a DJ who is one year older than Noel and grew up with his famous siblings in Burnage, Manchester — is due to appear in court later this month.

He was seen accompanying his younger brothers to a recent concert in Edinburgh, flying in a £3.5million private jet, The Sun reports. Pictures published by the newspaper show Paul and Liam arriving at Luton Airport, and another image shows Paul outside the singer’s £4million London mansion on Friday.

An insider said the Oasis frontman was offering a helping hand to his older brother. The source said: “Liam is supporting Paul through this. It says a lot about Liam. He has an incredibly hectic schedule at the moment because of the tour — but he wants to be there for his big brother.”

Paul has never been an official member of Oasis, but he is involved in the reunion tour, where he is credited as ‘tour DJ’ in the official programme.

He is said to live in an apartment Noel purchased in 2004 and works as a photographer and DJ. Paul has previously said he prefers to stay “invisible” and live a normal life “among the lower middle classes.”

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police previously said: “Paul Gallagher, 59, of East Finchley, has been charged with rape, coercive and controlling behaviour, three counts of sexual assault, three counts of intentional strangulation, two counts of making a threat to kill and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.”
