Liam Delap has labelled the partnership of Jack Grealish and Kevin De Bruyne as 'scary.'
Manchester City brought their slow transfer window back to life last week with the announcement of their first major summer signing having secured the services of Grealish.
It came at a pretty penny as the Blues have broken the British transfer record by spending £100million on the former Aston Villa captain.
Grealish joins a squad already brimming with attacking talent and young striker Delap believes the 25-year-old's link-up with De Bruyne is particularly exciting.
"You see him last season and the seasons before, he's incredible," Delap told Sky Sports.
"Obviously, the way he creates chances, him and Kevin [De Bruyne] in the same team is going to be scary I think.
"The amount of chances they will create for a striker and the forwards is going to be unbelievable."
City will begin their Premier League title defence on Sunday as they take on Tottenham Hotspur in North London.
Delap believes it's going to be a highly competitive campaign, but that City will have enough to retain their crown.
"Yeah I think," he replied when asked if he thought Liverpool and Chelsea were City's biggest challengers.
"Obviously they've brought a few players in. Chelsea had a great season last season, United have brought in a few players so it will be a very close one this year I think.
"But obviously we'll be looking to take it back again."
