Liam Cooper sends warning message to Leeds United's Premier League promotion rivals

Leeds United captain Liam Copper believes there is not one player in the Whites squad who doesn't believe they can’t go and win the Championship.

Leeds are seven points clear of third-placed Fulham in the race for promotion with just nine games left to play this season.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side also hold a one point advantage over fellow promotion chasers West Brom at the top of the table.

Leeds' remaining fixtures, which were released on Monday, appear to be the easiest on paper, but as Whites fans know, that means nothing in the final weeks of the season.

But Copper, speaking for the first time since his side’s fixtures were released,  believes his team-mates are ready and raring to go when the campaign resumes.

“We have to go full tilt for nine games,” he said in a social media post on the club’s Twitter account.

“We have to be strong. I believe we’re the fittest, strongest team.

“There’s not one lad that doesn't believe we can not go and win the Championship.”

The Championship season will resume on Saturday, June 20 with live coverage of Brentford’s London derby against Fulham.

That game will be followed by title-chasing West Brom taking on Birmingham City in the 3pm televised slot.

A day later, and United travel to tackle Cardiff City in their first game back since the start of March due to the coronavirus outbreak.
