Liam Cooper's verdict on Leeds United's away kits as he looks ahead to Premier League season

Leeds United club captain Liam Cooper is confident that the Whites' new kits for the 2020/21 Premier League campaign will prove to be a big hit with the supporters.

The Whites' home strip for the 2020/21 campaign was revealed by the club last week and proved to be an immediate big hit with the fans.

The new shirt, which has been manufactured by Adidas, was immediately met with a wave of demand, with supporters desperate to lay their hands on it.

And earlier this week, leaks emerged of the new away strip as well, with some supporters sharing leaks of it on social media.

Though it has not officially been unveiled by the club yet, Cooper, who is most probably counting down the days until Leeds' Premier League opener against Liverpool at Anfield, is confident that the fans will love it, just as they have the home one.

"It is lovely, yes, it's nice," Cooper told LUTV. "I am sure it will be a hit with the fans.

"I don't know if they have seen the away one yet but I really like the away one as well, and the third one is lovely as well.

"I am looking forward to wearing the kits. This little baby here (the Premier League sleeve badge) is nice and I am just delighted to be able to represent this club with Adidas and go and play in the Premier League.

"It is unbelievable. We cannot stop talking about it and smiling about it, but we have got a job to do and stay in this league."

It isn't just the kits, though, that have made Cooper smile, it is the general sense of being able to play for Leeds in the Premier League as well.

After 16 years out of the top-flight, the Whites' long-awaited return to the Premier League certainly took some digesting, with Cooper admitting that the achievement has still not yet sunk in.

The Whites skipper continued: "I don't know when it will. I am sure you will know when it has.

"It definitely hasn't sunk in. I don't know if it will be when we play the first game at Anfield, obviously. Whether it will be in 10 years time when I look back on my career, I genuinely don't know.

"We celebrated the best we could in the circumstances. It was difficult but we managed to have a good go.

"I am over the moon and delighted. It has been a long time in the making.

"Six years ago last week I signed for the club and it unbelievable to see where we have come from."
