Captain Liam Cooper and Stuart Dallas have committed their futures to Leeds United and signed new contracts at Elland Road.
Less than 48 hours after Kalvin Phillips signed his five-year deal with the Whites two more influential members of Marcelo Bielsa’s senior squad have agreed terms.
Cooper and Dallas returned from international duty with Scotland and Northern Ireland respectively today as they faced the media on Wednesday afternoon for the announcement.
Dallas’s previous deal was set to expire next summer, while Cooper’s expired in 2021. The new deals, for four and five years respectively, are a mark of how far the pair have come at Elland Road.
Last season, Cooper was a revelation in Bielsa’s first campaign, earning himself places in the Championship and EFL Teams of the Season.
Dallas, meanwhile, proved a reliable utility option last term before arguably performing as one of the team’s best players this term.
In the absence of Luke Ayling, Dallas has made the right-back berth his own and proved indispensable in defence and attack down that flank.
Gaetano Berardi, Pablo Hernandez and Mateusz Klich are the remaining senior players with contracts expiring next summer, although there are rumours the latter’s has a 12-month option for United.
