Liam Burt's Celtic exit confirmed with former Rangers boss a 'known admirer'

Liam Burt's exit from Celtic has been "confirmed" as the confusion surrounding his Hoops future appears to be resolved.

Burt had reportedly left the Hoops on Thursday as the Parkhead club declined the option of a second year on his deal.

That was thrown into doubt, however, after he shared a picture on his Instagram story at Lennoxtown on Friday.

But the Daily Record claim that he is set to leave Celtic after just 12 months at the club.

And the same report suggests former Rangers boss Warburton is a "known admirer" of the Ibrox youngster at QPR as the player weighs up his next move.

Warburton handed Burt his senior debut at Rangers in 2014 during a disappointing spell with the Light Blues.

Burt made the unpopular choice of crossing the Old Firm divide last August as he signed a two-year deal with the champions.

The 21-year-old impressed for the youth side, scoring seven goals in 12 games, but failed to break into the first team with the likes of Ryan Christie and Callum McGregor ahead of him, and is now on the look out for a new club.
