Liam Brady claims Troy Parrott should leave Tottenham on loan

Irish football legend Liam Brady believes that a loan move away from Tottenham would help Troy Parrott's development.

17-year-old Parrott is one of Ireland's most promising young prospects - and was fast tracked into Mick McCarthy's senior national squad earlier this month.

The Spurs centre-forward has made one appearance with the club's first-team. However, the Dublin native has been on fire for Stephen Kenny's U21s with 4 goals in as many games for the side.

Parrott, recently impressed on his senior Irish debut in a friendly against New Zealand and is highly regarded amongst the Irish fans.

However, with Harry Kane on such hot form, RTE pundit Brady believes that Parrott should seek a loan move away from Spurs.

With Mick McCarthy's fondness for players who are playing regular football, Brady reckons Parrott should consider leaving the club as chances under new manager Jose Mourinho are likely to be limited.

"I think he needs to go somewhere where he is going to play," Brady said on RTE Soccer Social

“Going to Dortmund or Bayern at 17, I don’t think it guarantees him playing time.

“I remember when Jermain Defoe was a young player at West Ham United, he was only 17, he went on loan to Bournemouth and I they were two leagues below the Premier League, but he was scoring goals and playing against men and I think that’s what Parrott has to do now.

“I’d like to see him get a loan move, I don’t think he needs to leave Tottenham. There is plenty of time for him to get experience elsewhere and come back and get into the Spurs team.”
