Liam Boyce could leave Burton Albion in January, admits Nigel Clough

Burton Albion boss Nigel Clough admits he may lose Liam Boyce during the January transfer window.

Boyce is on the radar of a number of clubs across the water, including Scottish Premiership outfit Hearts who are keen on the Northern Ireland striker.

Clough said there had been interest in the former Cliftonville and Ross County man leading up the January transfer window.

He hopes Burton can tie Boyce down to a new deal or risk losing the 28-year-old when his contract runs out in the summer.

"Him (Boyce) and Scott Fraser are the two and we are in the process of trying to sort out contract offers for them in the next few days and we will take it from there," Clough said.

“We are mindful that both players can leave on a free in the summer. If they sign new deals, then brilliant, if they don’t, we will look at offers.

“We want to try and keep them if we can, but we know the limitations that we have in trying to do that.”
