Leyton Orient staff return to work after death of manager Justin Edinburgh

Leyton Orient staff were due to return to work today after a period of mourning for Justin Edinburgh.

The club confirmed on Saturday that their manager, who was 49, had died five days after suffering a cardiac arrest.

Staff and players were invited to meet officials from the Professional Footballers' Association on Wednesday, and have been offered counselling.

Items were stolen from the shrine to Edinburgh outside Brisbane Road, but the club are unlikely to take the matter further.

The shrine was moved from outside the ground to a more secure location inside the ground "in order to protect non-flower items", the club said this week.

The statement, on Twitter, read: "In order to protect non-flower items which have been left in Justin Edinburgh’s honour, we have moved them all to the dugout."

The stadium was left open on Monday and Tuesday to allow fans to pay their respects, with the remaining staff returning to work from 10am this morning.
