After being on the market for three years, the Lexus RX has received a mid-life update.
Designed as a rival for SUVs ranging from the practical BMW X5 to the crossover-like Jaguar F-Pace, the RX sees subtle changes on the front and rear ends including slimmer lights and restyled bumpers.
After being stung with criticisms about a touchpad lacking intuition of use, the infotainment now has an additional touchscreen function. Voice control is also available.
Apart from more safety features being made as standard across the range, the RX’s boot cover can now be operated with the user’s foot in a quicker manner.
Another area where Lexus has responded to the needs of customers is driving dynamics. There are bigger anti-roll bars and retuned dampers in a bid to improve ride comfort and steering response.
Expect pricing to be similar to that of the pre-facelift model when it reaches Thai showrooms late this year as a 2020 model.
The core-seller is the RX300 running a 2.0-litre petrol-turbo priced from 4.18 million baht. While the V6-powered RX350 goes for 6.8 million baht in racy F Sport look, the petrol-electric RX450h asks for 7.6 million baht.
