Lewisham stabbing: Murder victim named as probe continues

A man who was found stabbed to death at his home in Lewisham has been named.

Police said Barrington Davis, 54, was found dead at his home in Torridon Road on May 16.

Mr Davis' neighbours raised the alarm after not seeing him for some time.

Officers then visited the flat and forced their way inside, where they found Mr Davis.

Police initially believed the death was non-suspicious, but later discovered suspicious injuries.

His cause of death was given as multiple stab wounds.

His next-of-kin have been informed.

A 39-year-old man was arrested on May 18 on suspicion of murder. He has been bailed to return to a police station on a date in mid-June.

The investigation by the Homicide and Major Crime Command continues.
