Lewisham murder: Woman dies six days after found suffering stab wounds in south London

A murder investigation has been launched after a woman found suffering from stab injuries died in hospital.

Police officers were called to an address in Lewisham Way, Lewisham at about 9pm on June 10 following reports of concern for the occupant’s welfare.

They found the victim, in her late fifties, suffering knife wounds. She was taken to hospital but died from her injuries on June 16.

Detectives are not releasing her identity until her wider family are informed of the death.

On the day the victim was found, a man, 31, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

He was charged on June 11 and appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Friday, where he was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on July 10.
