Lewis Stevenson to make Hibs return as Jack Ross' men face Rangers in bounce game

Hibs will welcome back Lewis Stevenson to action during a bounce game against Rangers.

The left back has spent much of the season playing second fiddle to Josh Doig who burst onto the scene at the beginning of the campaign.

He was making just his third start of the season when he picked up the injury against Kilmarnock in October.

But he will make a return against Rangers in a bounce game, which is likely to be largely filled with reserve players for both teams.

Easter Road boss Jack Ross revealed details of the friendly as he said: “Lewis trained last Thursday and Friday and the condition he has come in from an injury is outstanding.

“It’s a testament to his attitude and application as a professional.

“We’ve got a bounce game on Tuesday that he’ll be able to play and that will be him ready to go.”

Steven Gerrard is highly unlikely to include any first team players in his team - including the likes of Ianis Hagi, Cedric Itten and Calvin Bassey who are all regular subs - with a Europa League clash against Standard Liege on the horizon.

The two sides meet for real later in December, with Hibs travelling to Ibrox for a Boxing Day clash.
