Hibs should retire the number 16 when Lewis Stevenson hangs up his boots claims former teammate Steven Thicot.
The 33-year-old reached the 500 appearance milestone earlier this year, a feat that has only ever been achieved by four other players to pull on the Hibs shirt in the club's 145-year history.
Thicot reckons that the long-serving full-back should be recognised for being a one-club man when he decides to leave Easter Road.
The Frenchman, who played alongside Stevenson during his three year stint in the capital, told the Talkin Fitbaw Podcast that he believes the 16 shouldn't be passed on to any other player as he offered an insight into how Stevenson acts behind the scenes.
Thicot said: "I played my first trial game Lewis was there, it was against Raith Rovers and he played on the left of a midfield three.
"After the game I was like, 'This guy's not playing for the first team? I must've missed something'
"After that, Lewis used to give me a lift into training, he's the nicest guy on Earth.
"My English wasn't so good and he was talking to me and I was like, 'What?!?'
"The work ethic of the guy never changed. If he plays or doesn't play, the guy gives 200 per cent.
"He's not making any noise, he's not raising his voice, except on the field because he hates to lose.
"I used to be a crazy NBA fan at the time, Hibs is a great club and I think when he retires they should take his number out.
"If every team only had players and human beings like Lewis, the football world would be way better because he's a top man."
