Lewis Morgan flies out to Miami as former Celtic winger begins his American dream

Flying winger Lewis Morgan is jetting out to begin his American dream.

The 23-year-old agreed a deal during the January transfer window with Major League Soccer new boys Inter Miami.

Celtic banked £400,000 from the move that saw Morgan sign a three-year contract with David Beckham’s club one month ago.

But he only flew out to the States on Wednesday morning after the paperwork such as a Visa was finally sealed.

Morgan joined Celtic for around £300,000 from St Mirren in 2018 – only to be immediately loaned back to the club.

He was then farmed out to Sunderland after failing to nail down a starting spot with the champions.

But his career is on the up again after being handed the dream chance to star in America.

Miami – part-owned by former Manchester United and Real Madrid superstar Beckham – play their first ever competitive game against Los Angeles on March 1.

Morgan is likely to feature as the MLS kicks off. He could be joined by Neymar in Miami, with the Brazilian superstar revealing on Tuesday he would love to sign for Beckham.
