Lewis Morgan fires Inter Miami double as emotional former Celtic winger delivers touching message

Former Celtic and St Mirren winger Lewis Morgan scored his first two goals Stateside for Inter Miami on Wednesday night.

Morgan struck a well-taken opener in his side's league game against Atlanta United.

And he added a second after the Georgian club - who are managed by former Aberdeen man Stephen Glass - equalised through Eric Remedi.

Inter Miami, founded and owned by former Manchester United and Real Madrid great David Beckham, sit second from bottom in the MLS and have struggled for goals so far.

Morgan revealed his relief at breaking his American duck - and dedicated the game-winning brace to his dad watching back home.

He said: "Scoring the goals was a massive weight off my shoulders, goals and assists are what I base my game around so I was happy to get off the mark.

"And also it was my dad's birthday this week so that makes it even more special.

"I promised him I would score too!

"The time difference isn't great for everyone back home but my family stays up and watches all the matches so I got some nice texts when I came back to the dressing room."
