Seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton has shared his first photos with the newest member of his family, a golden retriever puppy named Halo.
After a demanding first half of the 2026 season, in which Hamilton secured his maiden grand prix victory with Ferrari at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix and a string of podiums, the Briton is taking the opportunity to rest and recharge with a new four-legged companion.
Hamilton acquired the puppy from Goldiva Goldens, a US-based breeder. The handover was confirmed by the breeder on social media, alongside a photograph of the dog posing in a racing helmet.
"We’re excited to fly Ms Halo to Los Angeles to Formula 1 Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton," Goldiva Goldens posted. "Dog trainer Kirstin McMillian, who is a three-generation animal trainer, flew to Maine yesterday."
McMillian, a Los Angeles-based animal trainer, previously worked extensively with Hamilton's other dogs, including his fan-favourite English bulldog, Roscoe, who sadly passed away in 2025.
It remains unconfirmed whether Halo will eventually join Hamilton at grand prix weekends, but should the golden retriever travel to races, she would join Hamilton's team-mate Charles Leclerc's famous long-haired dachshund, Leo.
While the news of Halo's arrival had already made its way across social media through the post from Goldiva Goldens and the puppy's appearance in one of Kim Kardashian's posts, Hamilton has only just shared photos of her on his own feed.

The Ferrari driver shared a carousel of photos and videos from his summer break so far, which included a video of him playing with Halo and a couple of photos of him posing with her.
At the time of writing, the post has already received 1.7 million likes and over 20,000 shares on Instagram. Goldiva Goldens commented on the post, writing: "Glad you’re getting some quality time with your pup. Stinky puppy breath is wonderful. Halo’s sister Danica starts training next week. She will be Goldiva’s Grand Prix."
Hamilton currently sits second in the drivers' standings, 50 points behind championship leader Kimi Antonelli.
