Inside Lewis Hamilton's lavish homes as driving ace changes his name

Formula One star Lewis Hamilton announced today he is in the process of changing his name to include his mother's surname.

Lewis' parents, Anthony Hamilton and Carmen Larbalestier, divorced when he was a toddler and he kept his dad's surname, but now he's questioned the tradition of women losing their surnames when they get married.

The driving ace decided he wanted to have both of his parents' surnames and is in the process of legally changing his name and hopes it will be done 'soon'.

While that's processing, Lewis, one of the most successful racing drivers of all time, will either be competing for his eighth world championship or relaxing in one of his plush pads that are dotted around the globe.

Lewis owns a £32 million penthouse in New York, which he bought in 2019, that's in a building owned in part by NFL great Tom Brady.

The 6,547 square-foot home boasts a swimming pool, fitness centre, squash court, library, and wine cellar - and neighbours include Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence, plus Austin Powers star Mike Myers.

It's not the first home he's owned in the American city, as he recently put his other pad up for sale - a 8,900-square-foot penthouse that also had its own swimming pool.

He paid £34 million for that one too, but reportedly never lived in it.

He also has a house in London, bought for £18m in 2017 - a six-bedroom detached villa in the west of the city that was owned by Burberry chief designer Christopher Bailey and his husband, actor Simon Woods.

Built by famous builder Samuel Johns in 1860, the 'stunning' house has a 'generous entertaining space' including a 200ft garden, complete with an incredible summer house.

Lewis' other neighbours including F1 legends Max Verstappen, Daniel Ricciardo, and Lando Norris - in the home to the most iconic F1 race, Monaco.

Sharing a picture of the flat on social media earlier this year, Lewis wrote: "A place I call home, Monte Carlo. I am so blessed to live in such an incredible place. God is really shining down on me today.

"Sending you light & love for your day. On my way to Spa, let's do this!!!"
