Nottingham Forest boss Chris Hughton made two changes to the side which lost narrowly to high-flying Swansea on Wednesday as the Reds looked for the perfect response against Blackburn.
Striker Lewis Grabban was missing from the squad altogether and was replaced by Glenn Murray who came back into the Reds' side after being a sub at the Liberty Stadium in midweek.
In another surprising change, Joe Lolley was dropped to the bench as Alex Mighten was given a start against Rovers with Sammy Ameobi still ruled out through injury.
There was also a return to the squad for Ryan Yates who had recovered from calf injury which he had picked up in the defeat at home to Middlesbrough last month.
Deploying his tried and trusted 4-2-3-1 formation, Hughton deployed first-choice stopper Brice Samba in goal behind the back four of Cyrus Christie, Tobias Figueiredo, Joe Worrall and Yuri Ribeiro.
The two holding midfielders were Cafu and James Garner, who has been in impressive form in recent weeks.
Anthony Knockaert started on the right hand side with Mighten on the opposite flank, while Filip Krovinovic was handed the number 10 role.
And up front spearheading the attack on his own was Murray who already has two goals to his name after his move to the club during the January transfer window.
