Lewis Grabban can be 'a killer' in front of goal for Nottingham Forest says Sabri Lamouchi

Head coach Sabri Lamouchi wants Lewis Grabban to continue to be a “killer” in the box for Nottingham Forest .

A brace from the Reds striker put paid to Fulham on Saturday as Lamouchi’s men claimed an impressive 2-1 win at Craven Cottage.

Grabban opened the scoring in the fourth minute, finishing off a brilliantly-crafted team goal. And he then doubled the visitors’ lead in the second half, with Aleksandar Mitrovic’s late strike proving nothing more than a consolation effort for Scott Parker’s side.

Grabban was the club’s top scorer last season, netting 17 goals in 41 appearances in all competitions.

He already has four in five this time around. But Lamouchi says his final goal tally will count for little, if the team do not put in the hard work to keep picking up results as they target a promotion push.

“He is a fantastic player and a fantastic striker,” the Frenchman said of Grabban. “He played a fantastic game on Saturday.

“He scored two goals, but he could have had another one too.

“He scored a lot last season, but, for me, not enough.

“This year, if he scores more than last year but we finish in the same position (in the Championship table), honestly, it doesn’t matter.

“He just needs to focus on the ball and do his job. He’s a striker. Inside the penalty area he must play like a killer.

“He was a killer on Saturday; very much a killer.”
