Lewis Ferguson in Aberdeen fan apology as he issues desperate 'stick with us' plea amid nightmare run

Gutted Lewis Ferguson has sent an apology to Aberdeen fans after their 10-game winless slump.

Stephen Glass ' men are off to the worst league start of a Pittodrie outfit in a decade after they were downed by Dundee.

It was the first win of the campaign for James McPake's side who climbed off the bottom of the table with the Dens Park victory.

It sparked a furious reaction from the travelling support, who called for Glass to walk away from the hot seat.

Scotland cap Ferguson urged the Aberdeen fans to stick with the side despite the nightmare run.

He told RedTV : "[We] just apologise. That's the only thing I can really say. We're as disappointed as every fan is. We work our socks off, it's not for the lack of effort that we're not getting results.

"We want to send them up the road smiling but it's just a difficult period and the only thing I can do is apologise to them because they turn out in big numbers, they support us and we're not giving them what they want and what we want as well.

"It's a tough time but stick with us, stick with the club and we'll turn things around."

The 22-year-old fronted up to the lacklustre campaign so far, and insist the team need to step up to stop the rot.

He continued: "Just disappointed, as you can imagine, angry, frustrated.

"It's a tough, tough time at the minute. It feels like rock bottom.

"We're struggling at the minute to get results but we need to try and pick ourselves up.

"We need to stick together as a group of guys and get through this and hopefully turn things around and have a decent season because we are miles off the team we should be just now."

Asked if confidence was on the floor, Ferguson added: "Yeah it is.

"It's the same for everybody. It's really hard at the minute but we need to get back in as soon as possible, stick together, that's the only way we're going to get through it and just try and work as hard as we can to turn things around."
