Sam Lammers has been backed to deliver the goods for Rangers when they need him the most.
Lewis Ferguson came up against the frontman in Serie A last season.
And the Scotland international admits he was impressed by the 26-year-old Dutchman.
Ferguson, who plays for Bologna, faced up against Lammers who spent last season on loan at Sampdoria from Atalanta.
Lammers scored his first goal in a Gers shirt against Newcastle last week in a pre-season friendly.
And Ferguson has given an insight into what Rangers fans should expect from the £3million signing.
Ferguson told the Scottish Sun: “I played against Lammers when he was with Sampdoria and he is a really technical player. I watched the Newcastle game where he scored his first goal and you could see how good he was. He picks up nice areas behind the striker and he is someone who will create chances.
"He is the type of player who will suit how Rangers want to play, especially when they are trying to break teams down.”
Cyriel Dessers was another summer import to arrive from Italy, however, Ferguson did not come up close with the Nigeria international.
With that said, the 23-year-old reckons the striker can bring "something different" to Michael Beale's frontline.
Ferguson added: “I didn’t come up against Dessers when we played Cremonese but he scored a good few goals in the league.
"There is no doubt he’s a good player — if you are playing in Serie A and you score goals then you are a talented striker. He will bring something different to Rangers.”
