Lewis Ferguson 'attracts transfer interest' from Fulham & Nottingham Forest

Scotland international Lewis Ferguson is a player in demand.

The midfielder has become a key player for Bologna since joining the Serie A club two years ago.

Last week, it was reported that Juventus were looking to test their league rivals' resolve with a bid for the 24-year-old. It's also believed that AC Milan are interested.

However, now it has emerged that two Premier League clubs are looking closely at the former Hamilton Accies and Aberdeen player.

The Mirror states that Fulham and Nottingham Forest have joined the race to sign the Bologna star.

Ferguson - son of ex-Rangers player Derek and nephew of ex-Ibrox captain Barry - has scored three goals and notched as many assists in 14 Serie A appearances this term.

While there is plenty of interest from fellow Italian clubs, this report states that Bologna's preference would be to sell to the Premier League.

This has placed both Fulham and Forest on alert, as they look to bolster their squads.

Given Bologna is performing above expectations this season, it's highly unlikely Ferguson would be allowed to leave in January, so next summer is a more realistic prospect for a transfer.

Meanwhile, Celtic midfielder David Turnbull is reportedly a shock transfer target for European giants AC Milan.

It's claimed that a number of Italian clubs, including Milan, are monitoring his situation ahead of the January window.

The 24-year-old is out of contract at Celtic Park next summer after four years at the club having joined from Motherwell.

It's believed he is considering his future given his contractual situation and his status in Brendan Rodgers' squad.

The Scotland international has made 14 appearances so far this season, but only seven of those have been from the start. He also has seven goals to his name.
