Lewis Dunk to Chelsea: Brighton boss gives latest update on transfer move

Brighton & Hove Albion boss Graham Potter insists he is 'relaxed' about the transfer rumours surrounding Lewis Dunk and a move to Chelsea.

The Blues have struggled at the back at times this season, and with the transfer ban having been lifted they have been linked with several players this month.

One of those is the 28-year-old, who has been a key part of the Seagulls, firstly to get promotion from the Championship and then to keep them in the Premier League.

Chelsea are yet to make a move in the transfer market this month, with Blues fans getting frustrated that the club have not brought in any new players.

But Seagulls boss Potter does not think that Dunk is likely to be the first for the Blues in January.

"He signed a long term contract (July 2018). We are quite relaxed about the situation," Potter said.

"I have really enjoyed working with Lewis as a footballer and as a person. He is really important for us and we are really happy that he is with us.

"January is always a little bit different to every other month if we are being honest. There is always a lot going on, a lot of talk from you guys (media) questions and interest.

"The window is open so there is more things going on in that regard but that is normal we know that is the case. When the window is open there is always more talk other than the football."
