Lewis Cook's verdict on Leeds United and their Premier League plight

Champions. After 46 games. That’s what Leeds United would want and it’s what Lewis Cook wants too.

The England international is one of the most successful footballers produced by Thorp Arch in recent years and remains in the hearts of many Whites fans.

Now 23, Cook is fighting his way back into Bournemouth’s Premier League line-up after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in December 2018.

However, the York native has not forgotten where he came from and told Bournemouth Daily Echo how happy he would be if the Whites were promoted.

“That’s where they belong, in the Premier League. I don’t know if they would want to go up that way (with a 22-team league).

“They would want to play the rest of the season and go up as champions probably, because they were on course to do that.

“I would be happy for Leeds to be in the Premier League, but we will see what happens.”
