Lewis Capaldi will be singing on the Strictly Come Dancing results show this weekend

Lewis Capaldi fans won't want to miss Strictly Come Dancing this weekend as the West Lothian sensation will be appearing on the results show this weekend.

As the first celebrity is cut from the dancing show, the 22-year-old will try to raise spirits with his hit Someone You Loved.

The first results show of the 2019 series will be shown on Sunday evening.

Lewis' appearance will be a pre-recorded segment as he's playing a gig in Phoenix on Saturday and will play Denver on Tuesday, the Daily Record reports.

The news was shared on the BBC Strictly Instagram account with a snap of the Bathgate singer between professional dancers Aljaž Škorjanec and Janette Manrara.

The husband and wife appeared ecstatic at the news as the posed with their mouths open and hands in the air for the image.

The post said: "Look who’s performing on our Results Show this week... only @lewiscapaldi Sunday 7.15pm. @bbcone."

Lewis released a new EP this week, and hosted a fun with fans to promote it.

More than 10,000 people were watching the live stream from Los Angeles as Someone You Loved rises up the charts on the other side of the Atlantic.

Asked about being "America's Sweetheart", he said: "Well I thought right, I feel like I'm really getting somewhere in America. The song's number 4, we're doing all these things, people are taking pictures of me, the shows have all sold out.

"But then I arrived at Capital Records Tower today the security guard at the front gate called me Lewis Capardilli, and until that security guard knows that my name isn't Lewis Capardilli we still have work to do.

"And we should speak to someone about getting him the sack."
